nice lunch, friendly staff, a lot of ambient noise - not the most comfortable spot
My girlfriend and I stopped for a quick bite of lunch on a Thursday -
pros - good food - we shared a salad plate - and got to choose 3 from any of the about 12 or so fresh deli salads on display in the glass case - it was a tough choice - they all looked great - and the ones we chose tasted great too - I think they were all likely delicious..
also - the staff at the counter was very friendly and helpful... and prices were very fair. There is a good selection of serve yourself soft drinks - free refills - including fresh iced-tea.
Blu Moon does have outdoor seating - which some people are ga-ga for - it looked OK - but it just overlooks the parking lot and Rangeline Rd. - I myself don't care to eat outside if I am just going to be adding car exhaust fumes to my meal - but different strokes and all...
Not as good - with the exposed duct work ceiling, piped in music and metal chairs scraping on the cement floor - I thought it was LOUD in there - some are oblivious to noise levels - but this is something I always notice -
plus I thought it was kind of cold and drafty - and the tables were small - none of these are problems if you are eating alone, with small children or even close friends - but this is NOT the place for a business meeting - that is sure - or also no type of romantic atmosphere at all if you are trying to impress an internet date for lunch or something..
All in all - a great place to pick up a tasty quick lunch - but to-go might be the best option - take out and find a picnic table on the Monon!
